In our first exchange since the beginning of Covid19 SBCC Culinary Students Ava Engle and Marcelo Chacon received paid internships in the kitchen at the Regent, Porto Montenegro. Along with the experience of working at one of the finest resorts in Montenegro they had the opportunity to work with employees from several other countries. Their work effort was exceptional and resulted in an invitation to continue this program in 2022.

UCSB Music Students Sara Bashore, Violinist and Katrina Agate, Cellist joined KotorArt musicians Andrija Jovovic, Piano and Nastasja Vojinovic, Violin to perform at the Music Academy of the West in January 2020. The Concert ‘Strings and Keys’ was a celebration of the collaboration between the Santa Barbara – Kotor, Montenegro Sister City Program and the UCSB Department of Music.

Congratulations to Mayor Vladimir Jokić who was elected to a second term as Mayor of Kotor in February 2022. Mayor Jokić who was born Kotor is a graduate of the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade. Mr. Jokić enjoyed success in the legal field as well in business before entering politics. During his first term as Mayor he was instrumental in implementing Culinary and Water Polo Exchanges benefiting youth from Santa Barbara and Kotor. We look forward to working with Mayor Jokić to build on these successful exchanges during his second term.
